The grilled Reubens sandwich is superb. Quaint atmosphere. Very enjoyable visit. Will be back soon.
As a local I know that there are far better BBQ joints in the area with better food, but the atmosphere of this place is what makes it truly unique and special. The woodworking displayed is impressive and the view from the far back dining area is lovely. In their general store they have some unusual food finds, like pickled watermelon. As neat as it is, I'll stick to eating at this place once a year when my Yankee father comes to visit. The service was pretty mediocre on our last visit on Labor Day.
Great restaurant. Their baby back ribs are the best I've ever had and so is the potato salad (sorry Mom). Wonderful cozy atmosphere and equally friendly wait staff. Only problem is what to order, it's all good. We come over from Middle Tennessee three times a year and make a bee line for the Outpost.
The food was great. The only problem I had was I ordered the stuffed baked potato and the potato was just cut down the center without being fluffed out or buttered. I had to take all the toppings off the potato ask for butter that came 5 min. later and cut the potato (or fluff) so I could eat it. After having to do all of that the chicken got cold. They do make restaurant made potato openers that cut and fluff the potato. Now to our server...she took out order and never returned. We had to get up to go find someone to bring is the things that our missing waitress did not. The next time we saw her she had her purse in her arm walking out of the door...
Such a cozy place and SMELLS AMAZING! Coolest selection of pies and treats I've ever seen and the restaurant looked clean and ambient. It has really cool jewelry too
